Removing unwanted white region in an image.
« on: October 22, 2010, 06:26:14 PM »
Hi all.

I have numerous images which I need to process in Matlab to determine various gemetrical characteristics. All the images in general have a white wrinkled circle in the middle surrounded by black region.

The simplest of the parameters that I am interested in the centroid. But the problem is that some of the images have some secondary white spots apart from the main central white region. The presence of these white spot is creating problems for me.

I need to find a way to remove the white spots. The images are in thousands.

Does anybody have any clever idea to sort this issue.

Thanks
