Code upgrade

Other coders from my company's headquarter has a bunch of old style C code used to "penetrate" the interfaces provided by some industrial instruments. I have not obtained any code so far yet , because I am .... sooo neeewww, so I have to learn the basics first. But luckily I by chance "peaked" into my colleague's simple source code to simulating the interaction between the instrument and hyperterminal and found there doesn't seem to be any need to concern the code upgrade into newer versions of VS since they claim it is for use solely for VS06.

Thanks for any ideas. ;)
